Gwynfi Miners Community Hall is the heart and soul of a small village found in South Wales.

The hall opened in 1901 and was paid for through the subscriptions of local miners and when the collieries closed, its trusteeship passed on to the local council. Last year Neath Port Talbot Council gave notice of its closure. At the same time, though, it agreed to support any local group willing to keep it open for the benefit of the community. Many residents in and around Blaengwynfi have now formed their own company and are leasing the centre to preserve its history and keep the community alive.

Once again though, the Community Hall faces closure. Along with other facilities in Glyncorrwg, Croeserw and Cymer Pool.

The Hall has something for everyone so please feel free to come and use the facilities and services it provides.
